About Me

Hello,

My name is Kaitlyn Morin, and I am a proud UTSA alumni, graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My passion for psychology began during the second semester of my freshman year, when I chose General Psychology as an elective course. I was fortunate to have a professor who not only taught the subject well but also ignited my fascination with the human mind and behaviors. That class marked a turning point for me. I changed my major to Psychology and never looked back.

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong desire to use my knowledge to make a meaningful impact. That desire, combined with my deep empathy for others and my drive to help people led me to pursue my dream of becoming a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Shortly after graduation, I was accepted into UTSA’s master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling where I gained so much valuable knowledge and had the opportunity to have hands on, clinical experience during my 600 hours of internship. I officially completed my studies in Spring, 2026 and graduated with my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

As a counseling intern, I had the privilege of provided counseling to individuals who were experiencing homelessness, recovering from substance use, or survived domestic violence among other traumas. These experiences have been incredibly humbling and transformative. I've gained hands-on experience working with diverse populations, helping clients navigate trauma, instability, and emotional pain. This work has reinforced my commitment to this field and sharpened both my clinical and interpersonal skills. It has also shown me the critical need for accessible and compassionate mental health care, especially for marginalized communities.

My Master's program, along with my internship experience, has deepened my purpose and solidified my calling. I am eager to continue growing, learning, and serving others. I cannot wait to become a licensed counselor and use my knowledge and skills to promote healing, empowerment, and hope in the lives of those I work with.
